Luke McPherson, Acupuncturist

About Luke

Luke has over 10 years clinical experience in acupuncture and TCM. He has worked with a wide range of health professionals and medical specialists, including travelling to Beijing, China with a team of oncologists to examine ways to integrate Chinese medicine into standard biomedical care. He has been published research on women’s health, in particular examining the role of Chinese medicine in breast cancer, and is currently designing a study in collaboration with Beijing University Cancer Hospital on Chinese herbal medicine to support breast cancer patients undergoing endocrine therapy. Through his experience, Luke is very knowledgeable in adjunctive cancer management. He has a special interest in helping patients with cancer treatment related side-effects such as nausea, pain, hot flashes, peripheral neuropathy, low immunity, loose stools, insomnia, and fatigue.

Luke has become an TCM expert in women’s health. He has lectured in women’s health in the post-graduate Masters program at the University of Western Sydney. In addition to this Luke has been treating women in all situations ranging from cycle balancing and fertility, to birth preparation, pregnancy pain, and post-natal recovery.

Luke has experience in developing treatment plans for acute and chronic pain, neuromuscular pain, pain associated with disease such as side effects from cancer and cancer treatment, and rheumatoid arthritis.

With a passion for helping people, Luke sees a long-term career in healthcare. Coupled with a hunger for learning and knowledge, his patients will always receive cutting edge treatment to ensure their health will receive best care.
